| Our History
Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Edmonton Region Community Board assumed governance responsibilities for the PDD Edmonton Region in April 1998. It is one of six regional PDD boards across Alberta. The regional boards were created to encourage more community involvement in the planning and delivery of supports and services to respond to the needs of adults with developmental disabilities.
Our Board Members
Community Board members are volunteers appointed by Alberta's Minister of Seniors and Community Supports for a three-year term. They determine policy and direction for the supports and services offered within the PDD Edmonton Region. Board members include the Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary, with representation from community members and parents/ guardians of adults with developmental disabilities.
In 2002, PDD Edmonton Region Community Board began an intern program, and selected two individuals with developmental disabilities to sit on the Board.
The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Board.
Our Region
The PDD Edmonton Region serves metro Edmonton and a geographic area ranging from Sherwood Park along the Yellowhead corridor to the British Columbia border.
