Paul Renfree, Chairperson (Grande Prairie)

Paul Renfree was appointed to the position of chair of the community board in January 2001. Prior to becoming chair, he served as a board member for two and a half years. Since his retirement as a high school principal in 1998, he runs an educational consulting service and builds websites. Paul has served on many provincial and regional boards including the Grande Prairie Regional College Board of Governors and the Council on Alberta Teaching Standards. |

Ms. Martfeld comes with considerable board experience and is presently a Board Member for Northwest Alberta Region 8 of Child and Family Services Regional Authority. Past experiences includes work with special needs children. |

Al Bromling (Grande Prairie)

Al Bromling relocated to Fort Vermilion after retiring from his position as Vice President, Academic, at Grande Prairie Regional College in 2001. Following Mr. Bromling’s retirement as Vice President, Academic, he served for a period of time as college president and chief executive officer. Mr. Bromling, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree in Community Development and Adult Education from the University of Alberta, has been involved in a number of educational and community development initiatives throughout Northwest Alberta, including being a founding member of an association for persons with developmental disabilities in High Prairie and surrounding area.
Mr. Bromling’s experience in community capacity building, social and education planning, and facilitating partnerships make him a valuable addition to the PDD Northwest Alberta Community Board.

Corrine Card

Corrine Card of Fort Vermilion brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the Board. After growing up on the Paddle River Métis Settlement, she became president of her Métis local chapter and a community volunteer. Corrine has extensive retail and property management experience and recently service on the Board of a Child and Family Services Authority in the northwest region. |

Karen Egge (Woking)

Karen Egge of Woking has served as executive director of the Northwest Regional Learning Consortium since 1998. Ms. Egge has significant experience facilitating training sessions for governance boards and has served as a member of the Alberta Health Appeal Board, Vice Chair of the Grande Prairie Regional College Board of Governors, Chair of the Grande Prairie Regional College Foundation, and Chair of the Spirit River School Division #47.
A long-time member of Toastmasters International, Ms. Egge enjoys the challenges of serving on a board and the rewards associated with knowing she is making a difference in the lives of individuals and families in her community and region. |

Kerrie Patrick (High Prairie)

Ms. Patrick currently owns and operates businesses in her home community of High Prairie.
Ms. Patrick has done considerable work with individuals with developmental disabilities in the community and maintains a strong advocacy on their behalf.
