The PDD Northwest Region Community Board wants to hear from YOU about the 2010-2013 Business Plan!

CORE BUSINESS ONE: Fund, monitor and evaluate specific supports and services to adults with developmental disabilities that support home living.

COMMUNITY BOARD GOAL ONE
Adults with developmental disabilities have the home living supports they need to live in the community and to help them achieve desired personal outcomes.


WHAT IT MEANS
The PDD Program will fund home living supports and services intended to assist individuals to live in a variety of settings in the community.

The PDD Program will fund supports that are consistent with the individual’s assessed support needs, and that demonstrate they contribute to positive outcomes for individuals.

WHAT IT MEANS
The PDD Program will fund supports to supplement the support of family, friends and other community members to connect people to the community.

The PDD Program will fund supports to connect individuals to the community where there is evidence of positive outcomes for individuals.

2. One of the main jobs PDD Northwest has is to help adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible. What can best help adults with developmental disabilities in developing more independence?

CORE BUSINESS THREE: Promote Inclusive Communities

COMMUNITY BOARD GOAL THREE
Adults with developmental disabilities participate in community life.


WHAT IT MEANS
The PDD Program will promote activities that stimulate the capacity of communities to share responsibility to support adults with developmental disabilities in their community.

This will include developing community leadership, partnering with others to encourage inclusive communities, and influencing change. Learnings from the activities will be shared provincially, across Community Boards, to promote best practices.

3. Another main job for PDD Northwest is to ‘Promote Inclusive Communities'. What should PDD Northwest Region do to help communities to include people?

COMMUNITY BOARD GOAL FOUR
Increased effectiveness and efficiency contribute to PDD Program sustainability.


WHAT IT MEANS
The PDD Program will review internal processes and structures, as well as the community service delivery system, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the PDD Program to achieve positive results for adults with developmental disabilities in a cost effective and sustainable way.

The PDD Program will implement a provincial performance management approach that will ensure the organization is effective and efficient, and continuously improves over time.

4. The Province of Alberta is facing financial challenges. How can the PDD Northwest Region help in responding to this challenge while also making sure people get the support they need?
