Northwest & Northeast Self Advocacy Conference: June 16-18 in Slave Lake

This summer, the Northwest and Northeast PDD Community Boards are bringing self-advocates together for a three-day conference at Northern Lakes College in Slave Lake. We hope the conference will give self-advocates from both regions opportunities to expand their networks and explore friendships outside their communities.

The theme of the conference, which will be held from June 16-18, is "the Arts". The conference will kick-off June 16 with Drumocracy, a group that helps people express themselves through music, and the committee is planning a banquet and dance for June 17. Participants will be able to enjoy many exciting possible sessions, including acting, creating puppets and creative cooking.
