Community Inclusion.

Falher Town Council received a Community Inclusion award for designating a parcel of land for development, an important first step in providing affordable housing for people with disabilities.

A second award was given to the Grande Prairie Sunrise Rotary Club, for their participation in the Rotary Employment Project, which helps people with developmental disabilities gain employment in Grande Prairie.

“It is an honour to recognize the people in our communities who are making a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities ,” said Paul Renfree , Chair of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Northwest Community Board. “Their support makes our communities stronger.”

Andy Hiron from Sunset House and John Goede from High Prairie helped co-emcee the event, which was attended by approximately 400 people, many of whom stayed after the awards ceremony for karaoke and dance.

Congratulations to all the nominees for your contributions to the Northwest.
