PDD CENTRAL REGION COMMUNITY BOARD
The PDD Central Region Community Board is responsible for the provision of supports, services, and funding to adults with developmental disabilities who live in Central Alberta. The Board has nine members appointed by the Minister of Seniors and Community Supports.
The PDD Central Alberta Community Board is one of six Community Board established in the province as part of the Community Governance system.
The role and requirements of the Community Boards are outlined in the PDD Community Governance Amendment Act 206 and in the various program policies.
The Boards receive funding from the Ministry of Seniors and Community Supports of the Government of Alberta and in turn, provide funding to individuals, families, and the network of service providers for supports and services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Central Region Community Board's Regional Office is in Red Deer and it has staff in ten communities across the region.
Board meetings are held monthly and are open to the public.
