Ron Crossley, Chair (Red Deer) - to December 2010
Ron Crossley was originally appointed as Chair of the PDD Central Alberta Community Board in 2003. Mr. Crossley has served as Deputy Minister of Health & Social Services for the Northwest Territories, Senior Advisor for the City of Red Deer, Management Consultant, instructor at Red Deer College and on a variety of boards in children's and health services.

Michele Brewster (Bowden) – to December 2010
Michele Brewster of Bowden is currently the Student Services Coordinator for the Career High Outreach School, she provides counselling and support to high school students and families. Ms. Brewster's previous board experience includes an eight-year term with the Central Alberta Child and Family Services Region 4 Board.

Dr. Bob Diewold (Red Deer) – to April 2012
Bob has served on a number of boards, including being an original member of the PDD Central Region Community Board. He has also been a director of the Lacombe Action Group. Until his retirement, Dr. Diewold was a staff anesthesiologist at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for 29 years. He is also very active in his community, serving as President of the Red Deer Silver Sharks Masters Swim Club and as a member of the Masters Swimming Canada Board of Directors. Dr. Diewold is well-known in the Red Deer region for his commitment to persons with developmental disabilities, has a son with a developmental disability and has been actively involved in his life.

Carol Dyck (Red Deer) – to April 2011
Carol's current position with the City of Red Deer and involvement with the city's Municipal Integration Strategy Team has enabled her to work closely with members of the PDD Central Community Board. She has extensive experience with planning special events and helped coordinate the 2006 Alberta Summer Games and the Scott Tournament of Hearts.

Grace Higgins (Red Deer) – to June 30, 2010
Grace served two previous terms (one as vice-chair and acted as chair for just under a year) on the Central Alberta PDD Board. After a two year break, she returned to continue advocating on behalf on persons with developmental disabilities. Grace brings professional training in Nuclear Medicine Technology, experience running her business in Red Deer, and valuable insights and practical solutions gained in being a parent of an adult child with a developmental disability to the work of the Board.

Merv Rockel, Vice Chair (Rocky Mtn House) - to December 2009
Merv was previously a PDD Board member, serving from October 30, 1997 to January 14, 2004. With 30 years of service to the Wild Rose School Division, Mr. Rockel brings extensive experience from the education section. He is currently the owner and operator a of cow/calf operation and considerable committee and board experience, including as a member of the Central Alberta Community Board and the Dual Diagnosis Conference Planning Committee. As a parent of a child with a developmental disability, he has direct experience with persons with developmental disabilities.

Kathy Rooyakkers (Winfield) – to April 2012
Kathy worked for 11 years in the banking industry and has owned and operated a beef farm for the past 26 years. She brings extensive experience in board operations and communities having served on the Keystone Child and Family Services Authority Board, the David Thompson Health Region Board, and as an elected school board trustee.

Diana Rowe (Drumheller) – to June 2010
Diana served as an elected member of the Red Deer City Council. She has worked to facilitate partnerships as executive director of the Red Deer Downtown Business Association and chair of the Downtown Safety Task Force. She currently works in facilitating connections between Family and Community Support Services organizations and organizations supporting children and families.

Brian Matthews, Self Advocate Liaison (Red Deer) – to February 2011
In February 2010, Brian Matthews, of Red Deer, was appointed to the role of Self Advocate Liaison for the PDD Central Region Community Board for a one year term. Brian is an outgoing, compassionate and energetic individual that has a sincere desire to help others. He has a long history of volunteering with the Loaves and Fishes agency in Red Deer and has been very active in planning and hosting a variety of self advocate conferences and events. Brian also works as a plain language translator for the Central Alberta Self Advocates Plain Language Society.
