First Nations/Aboriginal Supports Web Letter

Technology being what it is, we have been asked to update our method of communication. This will allow is to keep a broader range of people informed of our happenings. Thus, this is our very first web page newsletter.

First, a quick update for those of you who have never heard of us.

Two of us, Barb and Bev, will be contributing to this effort. We both work for PDD Central and are located at Michener Services. Our job has two components, both of which deal with First Nations persons with developmental disabilities. We will endeavor to keep it very clear which area we are speaking about. If you haven’t already read our web page, please go back and do so. This will explain to you exactly what we do.

Every month we will be updating this page in the hopes of bringing us ALL together in our efforts to enhance the lives of those we serve. We will be informing you of upcoming Aboriginal events in Alberta as we learn of them. We would also appreciate any information you have and we can pass on the information to others. We will include our email addresses at the end of this page to accommodate that.

We may also post information on protocols when attending aboriginal events. This will allow some degree of knowledge if you are attending an event for the first time. Should you have an idea of what you would like to see or any questions you have, please contact us and let us know. We are very new at this and we are definitely open to ideas.

We hope you enjoy our newsletters and the web page. See you next month.
