    March Web Letter

March saw us do a little branching out. On March 3 we opened our doors to all who live within the PDD service area. You are now free to book our facility Thursdays to use our theme areas or hold meetings or you can book us to host your group in an activity or to have us teach your organization about the importance of culture.

Please note, this is not just for those of Aboriginal descent.

The rooms you can book are our Inuit room, the native village, the library, or the activity area.

The Inuit room is set on the tundra. An Inukshuk overlooks a dogsled team and an old man fishing. All this set beneath the spectacular northern lights that dance across the room. You can sit back and relax and listen to the music of the land or read up on Inuit traditions.

The native village is a small piece of history. The Indian maiden sits at the campfire listening to the drums and preparing hides.

The activity room is set up for most native crafts from the modern to the traditional. We have a wide variety of instruction sheets you can use to assist you in your endeavors.

The library is a very quiet area where you can listen to music, complete an aboriginal puzzle or do some coloring. There are books and pamphlets that will help you to do some research on the culture. We also have a videos of our past native awareness days for you to view.

For meetings we are equipped with tables and chairs for approximately 30. There is a small kitchen area where you provide the coffee and we provide the equipment to make it.

For booking information, our contact numbers are listed on the 'contact us' page. Book early to avoid disappointment.
