May Web Letter

Tansi. The months are flying by and we are becoming quite busy.

We spent April making our miniature canvas tepees. As quite often happens, the small tepees became small villages. Some of our members were very creative and all of them look great.

ArtSparks, as always, was lots of fun. We made tie dye headscarves and hats. They turned out very well. Lots of color. We would like to thank those at ArtSparks for providing such a fun and beneficial program to our area. Good job everyone.

Barb and I traveled to Westlock and Barrhead during the month and talked to the staff and clients in that area. We discussed our program, how it started and where we are. We also had them make a miniature drum. It is always educational to visit different agencies and see how they do things. We had a great time, met lots of new people and hope to see them all again.

In May we will learn about pow-wows. With the season rapidly approaching we hope to have everyone as knowledgeable as possible by the time we attend our first pow-wow of the year. We will make sure everyone understands the protocols and happenings of the day so they are more prepared to go and enjoy the event as they should.

Enjoy the beautiful weather and we will talk to you next month.
