Application and Eligibility

PDD funded supports and services can be provided to people who:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have onset of a developmental disability prior to age 18 years
  • Have significant limitations in intellectual capacity (as defined in the PDD Eligibility Regulation)
  • Have significant limitations in adaptive skills (as defined in the PDD Eligibility Regulation)

Once a person is determined to be eligible, supports and services are provided based on the specific needs and circumstances of the individual as identified through formal assessment, person centered planning processes, and ongoing involvement with the person, guardian, family and others.

A Community Supports Coordinator is the key person to help you determine if you are eligible for PDD funded supports.

Anyone who is interested in applying for PDD supports in Central Alberta is invited to contact the Community Supports Coordinator in the PDD Central Region Community Board office nearest them.
