Application and Eligibility
PDD funded supports and services can be provided to
people who:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have onset of a developmental disability prior
to age 18 years
- Have intellectual capacity significantly below
average; and
- Have related limitations in two or more of the
following adaptive skill areas: communications, self-care,
home living, social skills, community use, self-direction,
health & safety, functional academics, work,
and leisure.
Once a person is determined to be eligible, supports
and services are provided based on the specific circumstances
of the individual as identified through a person centered
planning process and ongoing involvement with the person,
guardian, family and others.
A Community Supports Coordinator is
the key person to help you determine if you are eligible
for PDD funded supports.
Anyone who is interested in applying for PDD supports
in Central Alberta is invited to contact the Community
Supports Coordinator in the PDD Central Alberta Community
