Business Plan Projects
Each year, the PDD Central Alberta Community Board develops a Three Year Business Plan that outlines key priorities, goals, strategies, and performance measures.
The Board also sets out a number of initiatives and projects that are intended to help achieve the goals of the plan.

Person Centered Planning
Person Centered Planning (PCP) in Central Alberta is an initiative of the PDD Central Alberta Community Board that is intended to ensure that all supports and services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities are based on, and contribute to, each person's interests and desires. Over the past year, a research project was completed and work is now underway to implement actions in response to the recommendations made by that study

Building Community Capacity
PDD recognizes that an individual’s quality of life relies extensively on many individuals and groups in communities. While PDD supports are important, full inclusion of individuals requires the involvement of individuals and groups in communities. Funds have been identified for projects to assist communities’ look at ways of increasing the connection and involvement of individuals with developmental disabilities in community life.

Community Inclusion Index
In the 2005-2008 Business Plan, the Board emphasized a desire to try to develop a tool that could be used to help measure progress toward the vision of full inclusion. This was seen as an important element in determining the impact of community governance and whether overall spending within PDD in Central Alberta was having the desire longer term outcomes for the individuals for whom the program exists.
Data from over 400 people has now been collected and will continue over the next two years.

Moving Ahead (Michener)
The Moving Ahead – It's My Life project is intended to benefit of individuals living at Michener. Goal 4 in the 2007-2010 PDD Central Region Community Board Business Plan means that over the next three years, a comprehensive individualized planning process will be completed with individuals and families, and that supports and services for individuals living at Michener will be consolidated to Michener's the South Site.
