Community Recognition Program

Support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families requires the contribution and commitment of many people.

The PDD Central Region Community Board Recognition program celebrates the contributions, dedication, commitment and service of individuals, businesses, and other organizations in supporting persons with developmental disabilities.

Each year, the Board presents awards in four categories:

  1. Self-Advocate:   an individual with a developmental disability who has made a difference in the life of a person with a developmental disability.
  2. Citizen-at-Large:   an individual who may or may not have particular ties to our community, but whose contribution has positively impacted persons with developmental disabilities.
  3. Volunteers:   including parents/guardians and Board members or others.
  4. Groups:   businesses, service clubs, municipal organizations, etc.

Nominations for the 2009 awards are now closed with awards to be presented later in the year.
