Transitional Planning

When a person turns 18, responsibility for providing supports and services that may be needed by an individual with a developmental disability can change from the local Child and Family Services Authority to a PDD Community Board.

The PDD Central Region Community Board has developed a Transition Planning: A Parents' Guide, (updated in 2007 ), that is aimed at assisting parents to plan and prepare for the changes that occur when going through the transition from Children's Services to Adult Services.

The full Parents' Guide can also be obtained in printed form from any Community Supports Coordinator within the Central Region Community Board.

If you have any suggestions or feedback about this Transition Planning guide please send an email to stephen.golub@gov.ab.ca.
