Outcomes Project: Quality of Life Surveys

The purpose of the Outcomes Project is to pilot a performance measurement framework that includes the perspective of adults with intellectual disabilities who receive PDD funded services. PDD has taken steps to learn how measuring quality of life can lead to improvements in how services are delivered to adults with intellectual disabilities. PDD has been working with the internationally renowned expert, Dr Robert Schalock, on this issue.

Quality of Life Surveys

After testing the survey tool and process in spring 2008, PDD is now piloting the survey process with a random sample of individuals from seven participating service providers. The confidential data from the surveys is analyzed by a research company. The pilot phase is anticipated to be completed by late fall 2008. PDD will review all factors, and then make a decision about next steps.
