The following web sites are disability-related organizations and information.
- (ACDS) Alberta Council of Disability Services - ACDS's mandate is to provide support
to rehabilitation service providers of community-based services for people
with disabilities.
- TASH - TASH is an international
association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates,
and professionals fighting for a society in which inclusion of all people
in all aspects of society is the norm.
- The Support
Network - Edmonton's crisis and information centre. The Support Network
is a safe place to call when life hurts. We help you connect with the heart
of the community so you can help yourself, a friend or a family member.

- (ACCD) Alberta Council
of Citizens with Disabilities - Alberta's grassroods, cross-disability
organiation. Aconsumer-directed organization that actively promotes full
participation in society for Albertans with disabilities.
- Edmonton
Epilepsy Association - The Edmonton Epilepsy Association helps to improve
the lives of persons living with epilepsy by providing information, referral
and support services as well as awareness and education programs.
- (VRRI) Vocational Rehabilitation
Research Institute - VRRI assists people with disabilities to live
with dignity and value as contributing members of the community and to
make informed and responsible choices in all aspects of their lives. We
are a non-profit, research and service agency offering employment, community-living,
education and recreation services.
- CNIB Canadian Institute for
the Blind - The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) is
the nation’s primary provider of vision loss support services. The CNIB’s
aim is to help people who are blind, visually impaired or deafblind find
ways to lead independent lives, while being integrated into the mainstream
of community life.
- Council of Canadians
with Disabilities - The Council of Canadians with Disabilities advocates
at the federal level to improve the lives of men and women with disabilities
in Canada, by eliminating inequality and discrimination. CCD is a team
of people with disabilities, deeply committed to the principles of self-help
and consumer advocacy.
- Quality of Life Research
Unit - Our purpose is to carry out quality of life research that relates
to communities, families, and individuals from a variety of population
groups.
- Protection
for Persons in Care Act Legislative Review 2003 - Albertans were invited
to comment on the committee's report and make recommendations in the fall
of 2003. The responses will be reviewed, analyzed and summarized in a report
for the Minister. This feedback will help determine if potential changes
to the Act should be considered. If amendments to the Act are planned,
they are expected to come forward to the Legislative Assembly in 2004/05.

- Leadership Today Society of Alberta - supports Albertans with developmental disabilities by offering courses on leadership and self-advocacy to individuals, family members, staff and board members.
- Community Enrichment - Community Enrichment is a program designed to increase the independence of adults with a physical disability or brain injury. It provides students with the tools for the physical, emotional, social and financial skills necessary to lead to more independent, fulfilling and rewarding lives. This may include the skills to succeed in daily life, or those for employment or volunteer work.
